In the year 2000 the fashion was often described as a ‘mashup’. Trends were the fusion of old styles, ethnic clothing and music based subcultures. The fashion revolved around Middle Eastern and Asian clothing incorporated into European, American and Australasian fashion, filled with Eco friendly clothing such as recycled fashion and fake fur as common trends. As the year went on the fashion began more and more influenced by technology. There became a futuristic approach to fashion with metallic, shiny blacks, heavy use of gray, thin straps and buckles. This phase was more commonly known as the Y2K fashion. After the 9/11 tragedy with the world in debt the fashion turned simplistic allowing for cheaper trends to become the fashion.
